An avid golfer, Earle was a wonderful, gentle soul. His music makes millions of people around the world smile every day and heaven is a very lucky place indeed.

A personal note from Douglas Denoff
The DVD release of the Dick Van Dyke Show started shipping October 21, 2003. I have been reading about how happy everyone is (even CERTAIN people) at finally getting their DVD on DVD. Many of you have followed the saga on this website and on various Message Boards about how I have tried for over four years to bring these DVD's to the public. Now it's a reality and I'm thrilled.
Those of you who have followed this saga and supported my efforts with your countless emails will understand when I say that regardless of money, ethics, William Morris Agents and their lawyers, and anyone else who has the guts to call this project their own, I can honestly say that I am sitting here in my apartment in New York City SMILING BIG SMILES because I know in my heart (and so does EVERYONE ELSE) that this whole bloody thing...and all of your happiness....was because of something I did.
Something I started.
That's a great feeling which nobody can take away from me.
Actually, to be really truthful - your TRUE happiness isn't due to me at all.
Unlike some, I have no problem giving credit where credit is due. Because I sleep very well at night.

Welcome to the OFFICIAL site
of
The Dick Van Dyke Show!
This site is created by the original creative team of talent responsible for your favorite show :
Carl Reiner - Creator of the series
Bill Persky & Sam Denoff - Writers and producers of the series
and, of course, Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore
We hope this site is almost as much fun as watching the show itself, with games, trivia, contests and more to come!
"The Dick Van Dyke Show" debuted on CBS on October 3, 1961 and ran until June 1, 1966; 158 memorable episodes in all.
"The Dick Van Dyke Show" centers around the life of Rob Petrie, a New York comedy writer who lives in suburban New Rochelle with an attractive wife Laura (Mary Tyler Moore), a cute son Ritchie (Larry Mathews), and a pair of zany next-door neighbors, Jerry and Millie Helper (Jerry Paris and Ann Morgan Guilbert.)
Rob is the Head Writer of the Alan Brady Show and shares an office with writers Buddy Sorrell (Morey Amsterdam) and Sally Rogers (Rose Marie.)
The team works under the constant scrutiny of Mel Cooley (Richard Deacon), the balding, sarcastic producer of the show, and the constant target of Buddy's jokes.
Alan Brady is played by Carl Reiner, the real-life creator of the Dick Van Dyke Show.
And finally, the Dick Van Dyke show is available on DVD!
The show and its team won 15 Emmy Awards and can be seen on
Nick at Nite's TV LAND on your local cable system.
